The city of Tromsø
Tromsø is one of the most important cities in Norway.
It is located 350 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle.
There are 65.000 people living in Tromsø.
Tromsø is a tourist destination to enjoy year-round.
During Winter you can see the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis).
During summer the sun is with us for 24 hours,
this situation is called “Midnight Sun”.
You can meet the culture of the Sami people
with their traditions and ancestral customs.
Winter extends from November until mid-March.
The medium temperature is – 4 degrees celsius,
varying from – 30 degrees celsius to + 5 degrees celsius.
Summer extends from June to August.
The medium temperature is + 10 degrees celsius,
varying from + 7 degrees celsius to + 15 degrees celsius.

Aurora tour

Description:
When the night sets and together with our guide we will take the best route to get the best opportunity to find clear skies and be able to enjoy the spectacle of the Northern Lights.
There are countless myths that exist about the Aurora Borealis and its magic.
Our guide will explain and teach about it.
How it is generated and the reasons for its shapes and colours.
We will have blankets, hot drinks and something sweet to counter the cold of the night.
If possible, we will make a fire to sit around.
We will share tips on how to get the best photos.
And we will take photos of you to take home also.
Important:

Visit to a Sami farm with 300 reindeer, we will feed them and we will do a short sled ride.
Description:
We will visit the farm where a Sami family takes care of its 300 reindeers during winter.
We will enjoy a short sled ride where these reindeers will guide us through the valley and along the coast.
Afterwards we will be able to feed these wonderful animals.
Inside the gamme we will also enjoy a traditional Sami meal cooked over the fire.
We will finish around the fire enjoying the stories and tales about the Sami and the joik, their traditional song.

A stroll around Tromsø to get to know its history and secrets.
Description:
We will meet at the entrance of the hotel, and we will head out to go around the center to know the city that was once known as the “Paris of the North”.
We will enjoy three hours around the streets of the city, its history as a strategic center for the expeditions to the Arctic. We will visit characteristic places for its architecture and the main points of interests.
We will finish the tour in the aquarium Polaria to see the feeding of the seals, and movies about the Northern Lights and the wild nature of the region.

Cable car visit
We go up the cable car to enjoy the most spectacular panoramic view of the city of Tromsø.
Description:
We will go up Fjellheisen, the cable car of Tromsø to be able to appreciate the panoramic views of the island and its surroundings.
Once we are on the lookout, our guide will tell us about the geography and the most important information about the area.
We will be able to enjoy some hot drinks and stroll by the mountain paths before coming down and returning to the hotel.
The option to go walking back to the hotel is also available. The route is accessible.

During this season we can find Orcas and Humpback whales. While we search for the whales, the guides from the boat will be sharing stories about the interesting sceneries and providing information about the whales.

A sled ride driven by husky dogs
Description:
We will pick you up from the hotel and then enjoy a panoramic ride of thirty minutes from the city to the dog kennels.
Here we will be welcomed by the staff who take care of the dogs and they will help us get the appropriate thermal clothing.
We will divide in groups to go on the sleds. The dogs know they are going for a run and are anxious to start, so it is normal for lots of barking and noise.
The guides will help up during the whole ride.
After this unforgettable ride we will have time to visit and pet the dogs and their puppies.
Before returning we will enjoy a warm lunch and some nice desert.
Important:
To drive the sled it is required to have good physical shape, including the ability to trot while climbing a hill.
Note:
The dog kennels can be visited in the off season too.

Description:
We will go around the fjords in a minibus, with a guide who will help us learn a little about the local geography.
We will go to the island of Kvaløya and then make way towards Sommarøy.
On the way we will go through the impressive Kattfjord.
We will make a short stop and take a small stroll in the surroundings.
Afterwards we will go inside the Arctic Hotel Sommarøy for a short coffee break.
We will head back on the coastal side of Kvaløya to enjoy the views of the Sund.

Getting to know the island on a bicycle

Description:
We will go around secret spots on the island, further away than the usual places.
We will start from the city center and head south to the best beach in Tromsø.
From there, we will go along the trail on the island to visit the Prestvannet lake, the ski jumps, with the greatests views in Tromsø, and the Tromsø Arctic-Alpine Botanical Garden.
Note:
Appropriate clothing is required, which always includes clothes to protect against wind and rain.

Description:
We will go on a short ride to one of the mountain trails nearby Tromsø. We will choose a path that is accessible to everyone in the group.
We will go for a stroll in the woods for about 2 hours, during which our guide will talk about the trees and flowers. We will also talk about the animals that we spot, and about the ones we don’t see as well.
We will then find a place to make a fire, and we will each cook our own sausages on the open flame.
Important:
- Even in summer the weather is unpredictible. Always have some additional warm clothes and protection from the rain.

Experience the fjords in an exciting way

Description:
We will meet at the hotel and will drive for 20 minutes to the island of Håkøya. There we will find our kayaks and all the neccesary equipment.
Thanks to the double kayaks, which are very stable, no previous experience is required. Those who have some experience can choose an individual kayak.
An instructor will explain the basics to get started, and we will set off around the coast of the island, with the views of Tromsø in the background.
Since it is a quiet route, normally we manage to get close to Arctic wildlife, like porpoises, seals and sea eagles.

Tromsø Winter Wonders
A short trip of 4 days to sample the beauty of Tromsø in the winter

Description:
Day 1: Arrival to Tromsø. Transfer to the accommodation and check in.
We will be waiting for you at the airport and have a transfer ready to go to the hotel. We will help with the check in and make sure your room is correct. We will give you a short summary of what to expect in the following days.
Night 1: (Optional) Cable car ride and Dinner at the Restaurant.
If the spirits are high, we could go up the Cable Car to enjoy your first dinner in the Arctic with the incredible views of Tromsø from above. If we’re lucky, we could enjoy a first glimpse of the Northern Lights.
Day 2: City Tour during the morning
We want to make sure you get to know the city you are visiting, so we will start with a good look into the history and the secrets of Tromsø in this 4 hour tour. We will finish at the entrance of Polaria Aquarium, with the option of going in to see the training of the seals, or to go back to the city center.
Night 2: Aurora Hunt tour.
We will meet you at the hotel in the evening and head out and do what most tourists come to Troms for: a chance to see Lady Aurora dancing in our night skies. We try to keep the tour to only 4 hours, but depending on the night and the group, it could be longer. This will be decided with the group.
Day 3: Sami & Reindeer sledding.
We will go meet the Sami people and learn about their life and traditions. We will enjoy a sled ride with reindeer, and we will also enjoy feeding the herd of 300 animals who are very friendly but also quite hungry. This will be a full morning tour with lunch included.
Night 3: Aurora Hunt tour (2nd chance).
We will have a second night to go into the cold corners of Tromsø to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights, because it is always better to be safe than sorry.
Day 4: Check out from accommodation. Transfer to the airport.
We will meet with you at the hotel, and after the checkout is finished, we will drive you to the airport with enough time. We will help you with the check in to your flight and be sure everything runs smoothly until you go past security.

Day 1: Arrive in Tromsø. Transfer to the accommodation and check in.

Let’s start the tour right and get to know the city that your are visiting. So we will start with a good look into the history and the secrets of Tromsø in this 4 hours tour. We will finish at the entrance of Polaria Aquarium, with the option to go in or to go back to the city center.
Evening 2: Mountain Trail hike.
We will head out to find an accessible hiking trail to enjoy, and take advantage of learning about nature while walking inside the forest. We may even enjoy some food around a small bonfire.
Day 3: Fjord tour in Minibus
We will head over to the island of Kvaløya to learn about the fjords, the sounds, and the geographical history of the area. We will also be on the lookout for local animals and learn about all the plants in the forest. We will drive around in our accessible transport for 4 hours, and we will have two opportunities to get off the minibus and enjoy the Arctic climate.
Day 4: Check out from accommodation. Transfer to the airport.
We will meet with you at the hotel, and after the checkout is finished, we will drive you to the airport with enough time. We will help you with the check in to your flight and be sure everything runs smoothly until you go past security.
