Tromsø is one of the most important cities in Norway.
It is located 350 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle.
There are 65.000 people living in Tromsø.

Tromsø is a tourist destination to enjoy year-round.
During Winter you can see the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis).
During summer the sun is with us for 24 hours,
this situation is called “Midnight Sun”.

You can meet the culture of the Sami people
with their traditions and ancestral customs.

Winter extends from November until mid-March.
The medium temperature is – 4 degrees celsius,
varying from – 30 degrees celsius to + 5 degrees celsius.

Summer extends from June to August.
The medium temperature is + 10 degrees celsius,
varying from + 7 degrees celsius to + 15 degrees celsius.

Aurora tour for all

A Northern Lights chasing tour that is accessible to everybody.

Description:

The night start in the afternoon when our specialized guides start planning the trip, choosing the best route to find clear skies and be able to enjoy the spectacle of the Northern Lights. First we pick everyone up at the meeting place, and then we start driving.

We will get to know everyone and explain a more about what to expect from the night. Your guide will explain the countless stories that exist about the Aurora Borealis, and all the facts. You will learn how they are generated, the reasons for its shapes and colors, which places they are visible.

We will choose a spot to enjoy a delicious warm meal, and hot drinks to counter the cold of the night. We will make a fire for everyone to sit around also. We also have wamr blankets and thermal clothing for everyone.

We will share with you tips on how to get the best photos, and we will also take photos ourselves for you to take home.

As an accessible company, we always make sure that everybody who joins can enjoy the tour in equal conditions. This means that our Aurora chasing tour is accessible to people with disabilities such as wheelchair users, and also families and people who have no disabilities.

And we will take photos of you to take home also.

Important:

  • Dress very warm, prepare for a cold night.
  • The possibility of toilets is restricted, so we cannot guarantee them on the tour. Please plan ahead for this.
  • You may need to bring your passports. Sometimes the tours takes us all the way to Finland.

    Reindeer visit and sled ride

    Visit to a Sami farm with 300 reindeer, we will feed them and we will do a short sled ride.

    Description:

    We will visit the farm where a Sami family takes care of its 300 reindeers during winter.

    We will enjoy a short sled ride where these reindeers will guide us through the valley and along the coast.

    Afterwards we will be able to feed these wonderful animals.

    Inside the gamme we will also enjoy a traditional Sami meal cooked over the fire.

    We will finish around the fire enjoying the stories and tales about the Sami and the joik, their traditional song.

    City tour

    A stroll around Tromsø to get to know its history and secrets.

    Description:

    We will meet at the entrance of the hotel, and we will head out to go around the center to know the city that was once known as the “Paris of the North”.

    We will enjoy three hours around the streets of the city, its history as a strategic center for the expeditions to the Arctic. We will visit characteristic places for its architecture and the main points of interests.

    We will finish the tour in the aquarium Polaria to see the feeding of the seals, and movies about the Northern Lights and the wild nature of the region.

    We go up the cable car to enjoy the most spectacular panoramic view of the city of Tromsø.

    We will go up Fjellheisen, the cable car of Tromsø to be able to appreciate the panoramic views of the island and its surroundings.

    Once we are on the lookout, our guide will tell us about the geography and the most important information about the area.

    We will be able to enjoy some hot drinks and stroll by the mountain paths before coming down and returning to the hotel.

    The option to go walking back to the hotel is also available. The route is accessible.

        Description:

        You will go to the pier where the boat is moored. There you will find your guides who will take us for a day ride in search of whales.

        During this season we can find Orcas and Humpback whales. While we search for the whales, the guides from the boat will be sharing stories about the interesting sceneries and providing information about the whales.

        The ship offers ample lounges with panoramic windows to enjoy the ride and be protected from the cold. And a coffe/bar with an ample selection.

          Husky Dog sled ride

           A sled ride driven by husky dogs

          Description:

          We will pick you up from the hotel and then enjoy a panoramic ride of thirty minutes from the city to the dog kennels.

          Here we will be welcomed by the staff who take care of the dogs and they will help us get the appropriate thermal clothing.

          We will divide in groups to go on the sleds. The dogs know they are going for a run and are anxious to start, so it is normal for lots of barking and noise.

          The guides will help up during the whole ride.

          After this unforgettable ride we will have time to visit and pet the dogs and their puppies.

          Before returning we will enjoy a warm lunch and some nice desert.

          The dog kennels can be visited in the off season too.

          To drive the sled it is required to have good physical shape, including the ability to trot while climbing a hill.

          Description:

          We will go around the fjords in a minibus, with a guide who will help us learn a little about the local geography.

          We will go to the island of Kvaløya and then make way towards Sommarøy.

          On the way we will go through the impressive Kattfjord.

          We will make a short stop and take a small stroll in the surroundings.

          Afterwards we will go inside the Arctic Hotel Sommarøy for a warm lunch.

          We will head back on the coastal side of Kvaløya to enjoy the views of the Sund.

            We will go on a short ride to one of the mountain trails nearby Tromsø.

            Description:

            We will go on a short ride to one of the mountain trails nearby Tromsø. We will choose a path that is accessible to everyone in the group.

            We will go for a stroll in the woods for about 2 hours, during which our guide will talk about the trees and flowers. We will also talk about the animals that we spot, and about the ones we don’t see as well.

            We will then find a place to make a fire, and we will each cook our own sausages on the open flame.

            Important:

            • Even in summer the weather is unpredictible. Always have some additional warm clothes and protection from the rain.
